Started with a workshop on Creative Practice as Participatory Research (brilliantly organised by Jennifer Coates and Wayne Wong) with colleagues from Sheffield. A great day, met some lovely people and thought about future collabs. I also presented on creative practice as a research method and how for me, making and research have become entangled. Thought/talked about participation vs audience, and had a good chat about helium balloons.
Tuesday I managed to do some making.
Wednesday was a bit of an admin meeting-y day. Met with Rachel Gadsden and had a great discussion about drawing and trees.
Thursday we had interviews for most of the day.
Friday was another admin day, I moved office, made corrections to my prototypes article and had a chat with Sarah about EASA.
The weekend was excellent. Walking around Burbage on Saturday.
Sunday morning we went to the Kinder Mass Swim Trespass in Kinder reservoir, on the 91st anniversary of the original. A brilliant atmosphere. The water was cold (9º), and there were around 500 people there, I’ve been old. Then a bit of a pedal in Wharncliffe afterwards and home for tea.
