Wearables Research Project
Pollution Badge

A one week prototyping workshop to develop new wearable devices, working with a set of wearable components, a small workshop and a 3d printer.

As part of the workshop a self published book was made to communicate the research.

A number of objects emerged from the workshop, including a pollution-sensing badge that automatically sends an email to the relevantĀ local MP if pollution levels are found to be high. The badge uses a number of pollution sensors, combining the data with location-based software on a smartphone. The badge is currently being developed to plug into a crowd sourced pollution map, bringing data where there would otherwise be none.

This work is part of an ongoing research project with Kin Design.
