Design the End of the World – Split

A five day speculative design workshop and brief with a range of students (architects, designers, social scientists and programmers) from the Balkan region.

The brief invited the students to map current dialogues, fears and ideas around the end of the world. They were then asked to expand these and use current data to imagine new end of the world scenarios. These scenarios were presented in the form of a news report to describe ‘the apocalypse’. The students were then asked to re-imagine and re-design the city of Split and its architecture, rituals, transport, public spaces, products and services for the surviving post-apocalyptic societies.

Below are a small selection of images and screenshots from film that the students produced.
