Claustrophobia
The ring symbolises the closing of a circle, whereby you are trapped inside. The rings came about as as a result of researching claustrophobia, the experience of feeling trapped, specifically in long term relationships.
This work went on to form a series of wedding/engagement rings that promote or force the user to realise and question these feelings. I am interested in how an object changes the way you feel, and the emotions it can manipulate; for example how does someone sleep differently when they first get engaged/married, does the form of the object have the potential to change your state of emotion/thought?
